The Lounsberry Pedals TFP-1 Tall & Fat Analogue FET Preamp
Lounsberry have purpose made the true-bypass Tall & Fat preamp stompbox to save all keyboard players and performing producers from cold, hard sound. Fitted with two simple control pots: Fat and Tall, this pedal will re-fill your signal with any missing low and mid frequencies, literally wrapping it in a fluffy and warm, analogue blanket.

Vandaag ontvangen en ook direct weer geretourneerd. Wilde het pedaal gebruiken tussen mijn Nord C2d en Neo Ventilator 2 met het idee (uitgaande van alle rave reviews) dat het nog een extra dimensie aan het geluid zou toevoegen. Niets is helaas minder waar; icm een Neo V2 is er zeker niet het verschil waarneembaar waar online over gesproken wordt. Ook over een studiokwaliteit koptelefoon is het verschil minuscuul te noemen, maar verwaarloosbaar in een live-situatie.
Ik kan mij voorstellen dat het een toevoeging kan zijn als je geen Ventilator gebruikt, bijvoorbeeld in de lijn naar een echte (transistor) Leslie of naar de tafel, maar het ontbreken van een stereo output maakt het pedaal eigenlijk onbruikbaar voor een aansluiting achter de Leslie van een clonewheel. Deze wil je tenslotte stereo uitsturen om ook daadwerkelijk een dopler-effect te krijgen. Wellicht dus wel te gek in de mono-lijn richting een Leslie, maar dat heb ik niet kunnen checken omdat ik die niet gebruik.
Al met al dus een beetje teleurgesteld, mede door de aanschafprijs van een ruime 200. De Neo V2 is in mijn optiek tot nu toe bij far de beste digitale Lesliesimulator, maar ik had verwacht dat de Tall & Fat hier nog een dimensie aan toe kon voegen. Kortom; Ik had meer van de hype verwacht, ook op dit prijspeil.
